iPeople SC Solutions is currently recruiting experienced Support Workers to work for our client based in Haringey and surrounding areas.
The successful post holder is required to support Adults with Learning Disabilities and Autism in their own home/residential settings with activities of daily living including personal care, medication, attending medical and health appointments in addition to supporting residents to access community-based activities of their choice on a one-to-one basis or as part of a group.
Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to
- Providing physical support which may include helping with household tasks and personal care.
- Supporting and helping with health care needs, including routine checks or administrating medication.
- Encouraging and supporting the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
- Working with other healthcare professionals to ensure that all care needs meet the highest possible standards.
- Building relationships with individuals to encourage trust, while listening to their needs and concerns
- Ensuring that the person supported is the prime focus when making decisions about their care and wellbeing.
- Assisting service users with compassion when undertaking normal activities of daily living whilst ensuring that privacy, dignity, and human rights are respected.
- To promote safeguarding and wellbeing for individuals to the highest of standards Strict adherence to Health and Safety guidelines to keep yourself and others safe.
- Protecting the confidentiality of personal information and ensuring information is only disclosed to those who have a right or need to know.
Requirement
- Previous experience supporting autistic adults, service users with a Learning Disability and/or people Mental Health Diagnosis is a must.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service
- NVQ level 2 or above in the health and social care sector
- Minimum 1 year experience supporting people with behaviours that may challenge others, Mental health, autistic adults and/or people with learning disabilities.
- Ability to support people to develop Person Centred Plans
Working hours: 36, Monday- Friday
